Palomar College is hosting a drive-thru technology distribution event to help its students obtain supplies needed due to the remote learning format.
The school is committed to assisting its students reach success through distance education. As part of this, it will be distributing 400 laptops, 200 hotspots, 100 webcams and 200 printing cards to students who may not have reliable devices and internet access.
The federal Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES Act) is funding $315,563 for the event to help improve students’ remote learning experiences under COVID-19 restrictions.
Approximately 360 Palomar students enrolled in the Spring 2021 semester have registered to receive equipment at the event.
The drive will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 25 in Parking Lot 12 on Palomar’s main San Marcos campus. The lot can be accessed from Las Posas Road.
