Palomar College is planning a variety of events in the upcoming weeks to celebrate Black History Month.
The school will be hosting a campaign via Instagram during the month of February.
From Feb. 1 to Feb. 26 a total of 11 Zoom sessions will be held. The link to join and the calendar of events can be found on the Palomar College website.
Several different topics are to be discussed during these presentations by individuals with their own stories and experiences.
A few of the events include:
From 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Feb. 17 a presentation about mental health will be held via Zoom to discuss resources and how to get involved in your community’s efforts.
From 5 to 6 p.m. on Feb. 19 experts will be discussing the history and role of Black fraternities and sororities in the past and today.
An open mic night will be held on Feb. 26 to finish off the month of celebrations. Professor Richard Carr is asking those who wish to perform to email him at [email protected] to be added to the sign up list.
