Although quarantine is still in place, event coordinators for the 3rd Annual Monster Dash and Bash are determined to see the marathon go on. With social distancing implemented, people can still participate in the yearly event to help a student in need and even earn some prizes for themselves.
Hosted during the spookiest month of the year, attendees of the Monster Dash and Bash are still encouraged to wear costumes and dress-up for the event. From the beginning of the month until Oct. 28, you can complete your 5K run (or walk) from afar whenever you like.
It is as simple as registering here and going out for your 5,000 meter journey.
Participants will automatically be entered in a costume contest to win some prizes. Categories include scariest costume, best youth costume, most creative costume and more. You can read up more about the prizes at the contest page.
You can also share photos of yourself on your 5K run. Make sure to send them to the link you receive upon registering.
In addition, all participants will receive a 3rd Annual Monster Dash and Bash Finisher Medal, a beverage coupon and a letter from a student that you supported by registering for the marathon.
Registration is $25. Proceeds will go toward the Palomar College Foundation to help students obtain necessary technology, support for basic needs and emergency funds.
Be sure to attend the Virtual Awards Ceremony at 5 p.m. on Oct. 29 to find out if you won. Invitations to the ceremony are sent after registration for the marathon.
