Palomar officials announced that classes will remain in distance and online formats for the upcoming summer semester, according to a press release.
The decision was made by administrators in an effort to protect the campus community from the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
“We have no choice but to stay in remote-learning mode, for everyone’s safety,” Acting President Jack Kahn said in the press release. “We look forward to another semester of student success, even under these unusual circumstances.”
Palomar officials are working with health officials from San Diego County and are working to provide students with distance education with California Governor Gavin Newsom’s stay-at-home order.
Julie Lanthier Bandy, Director of Public Affairs, shared in an email that the District is discussing whether remote classes will continue during the fall semester. No decision has been made at this time.
Class catalogs for the upcoming semesters will be provided online. Students can also schedule meetings with educational counselors at [email protected] or [email protected].
