SAN MARCOS — Palomar College students and staff are invited to dress up in costumes and run a 5k next month.
The Palomar Foundation-funded Monster Dash and Bash 5k is back again for 2019.
From 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 19, runners (and walkers) in their Halloween best will trek across campus.
Registration opens at 7:00 a.m., and the main race will begin at 8:30 a.m. The Kids Dash will start at 9:30 a.m.
Then, get ready for a post-race party. The event will have multiple vendor’s booths, a beer garden, a costume contest, a photo booth, on-campus music, and a silent auction.
There will also be a costume contest consisting of prizes handed out in multiple categories.
Awards will be given for the Best Team costume, the Most Creative, the Best Youth Costume, the Scariest Costume, and Best Overall.
Registration costs $25.00 per person, and proceeds for this event will go to the Palomar Foundation to help students with differing incomes achieve success, regardless of their background.
The race will take place at 1140 W Mission Road, San Marcos, CA 92054.
