Palomar College leaders have made it easier for students who do not have access to the Internet at home by providing stable free WiFi in the Lot 12 parking structure on the main campus.
Since the WiFi in Lot 12 was a success, Palomar College decided to expand its Internet access to the main floor of the parking structure for students to accommodate to the current remote learning environment caused by COVID-19.
Students will be able to join their live classes or study groups, take exams, access their courses, research for assignments and more with the WiFi provided at the parking structure. However, they will not be able to access classroom accommodations, such as charging stations.
When entering the campus, students are required to follow screening procedures, such as a temperature scan located in Lot 12. If the student is presenting a fever or other COVID-19 symptoms, they may not enter the campus. Another requirement for students is to remain in their vehicle while accessing campus WiFi.
Palomar College’s WiFi will be accessible for students from 7:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Fridays.
