Hello Comets, chances are you just had midterms, so there’s a possibility you need to take a break. Why not attend a skillshop? There are a bunch this week that students may find informative, so read on!
Jobs and Internships
The Teaching and Learning Center is holding a skillshop about how jobs and internships can advance you toward your career goals, in addition to how the Cooperative Education Team can help you on that journey.
The skillshop is from 2 to 3 p.m. on Oct. 20 via Zoom, and is open to all Palomar students at no cost. Click here to register. The TLC can be reached at [email protected] if you have more questions.
Wellness Wednesday
Every third Wednesday of the month, the Palomar College Student Wellness Advocacy Group is hosting Wellness Wednesday. This week, SWAG is inviting students out to learn about how to take care of their mental health while participating in activities.
The event is from noon to 1 p.m. on Oct. 21 on Zoom. Head to this link to sign up. Contact SWAG at [email protected] for more information.
Food, Nutrition and Basic Needs
Palomar has expanded its food bank to include a new Food & Nutrition Center. The Office of Student Life & Leadership is hosting a skillshop for students interested in learning how to access free groceries and where to find free food on campus.
It will be held from noon to 1 p.m. on Oct. 21 via Zoom. Those interested can sign up here. Registration is required to participate.
For questions or further information, visit the Office of Student Life & Leadership website or email the office at [email protected].
That wraps up this week. We’ll see you next Monday, Comets!
