The Palomar College Foundation is providing funding for essential workers who have children enrolled at the Early Childhood Education Lab School on campus.
The fund is eligible to essential workers from low-income or single-income families with at least one child at the Lab School and do not have paid time off or other financial hardships. They must quarantine at home with their Lab School-enrolled child.
The Essential Worker Childcare Support Grant is going to provide up to $400 to families that find themselves in the position of needing to self-quarantine due to COVID-19. The grants will be awarded based on number of days in quarantine, full or part-time enrollment status at the ECELS and the child’s age.
The Lab School assists its community in addition to Palomar’s students and employees, aiding children from infancy though age five.
Located towards the West Borden Road entrance to the San Marcos campus, the facility was reopened on July 1 after closures due to COVID-19 regulations.
Donations are currently being accepted by the community, and will be matched by donors. To access the donations page, click here.
