The season of hanging out in the sun and cooling off in the water is almost here. Here are four tips for keeping your makeup both natural and waterproof on those hot summer days.
Beauty blogger, Ingrid Nilsen, recommends these tips in making your makeup sweat-proof and waterproof.
First, use a cream eye shadow to give your eyelids some color. She finds cream shadows stay better than powder shadows.
Next, she recommends using waterproof mascara. Her favorite right now is CoverGirl’s Plumpify ($9).
Sticking with cream-based products, use a cream blush of your choice on your cheeks. Then use some finishing powder or foundation powder to seal the blush on your face and make it stay.
Lastly, take a long-wearing or waterproof eyebrow pencil, such as the Tarte Amazonian Clay Waterproof Brow Pencil ($21), and fill in your brows. If you want your brows looking more natural, follow your brow shape and lightly fill in sparse areas.
Now you can keep your makeup staying when you wear it to the beach, pool or just on those extra humid days.
