Palomar’s women’s golf team placed third overall at round two of the Orange Empire Conference championship. Finishing in the top three means that the Comets advance to the Southern California regional tournament. Advancing alongside OEC champions College of the Desert and Fullerton Community College, the three clubs will play in the So Cal tournament next Monday and Tuesday at Temecula Creek Inn.
On Wednesday at the Woods Valley Golf Course in Valley Center, the team shot a collective 344-335–679 to finish their regular season. After winning top overall performance honors on the first day of the tournament with a career-best score of 74, Jessica Campbell tallied an 86 to finish with a total score of 160 over 36 holes.
Other scores for the Comets team were Samantha Runnels with a 102 (201 overall), Sydney Houser shot a 98 (184 overall), Freshman Brittany Bilek duplicated her day once score posting another 86 (172 overall), and Deanna Bird shot an 86 as well finish with 164 overall.
