SDSU (San Diego State University) and Palomar College officially partnered in December 2020 to establish a microcenter that offers courses for undergraduate students.
The program will begin this fall of 2021 and will offer two programs for the Criminal Justice and Communication departments.
Palomar College Interim Superintendent/President Dr. Jack Kahn stated on Palomar News that the program is meant to be an example of the ways the school is willing to support its students. He would like it to reinforce officials’ commitment to helping students achieve their learning outcomes.
The two-program initiative has opportunities for expansion in the future. This initiative was founded specifically for nonconventional students who may be working online. It also offers exclusively online courses until the COVID-19 pandemic is no longer a threat to students.
