About IMPACT

IMPACT is Palomar College’s award-winning, student-run magazine. First published in 2011, IMPACT has become a signature project of the journalism program, showcasing long-form reporting, bold design, photography, and illustration—all written and created by students.

The magazine publishes once a year in the spring semester and is produced by the staff of The Telescope, Palomar’s campus newspaper. Each issue runs 60+ pages and gives students the opportunity to dive deeper into feature stories and special projects that capture campus culture, community issues, and student voices.

Like The Telescope, IMPACT is guided by a faculty adviser but controlled entirely by the student staff, ensuring independence and editorial freedom protected by the First Amendment.
