Comets softball pitcher Summer Evans was named Pacific Coast Athletic Conference Women’s Athlete of the Week for Feb. 9-15 after recording three wins in a seven-day span.

Her three wins boosted her overall record for the season to 5-0, and helped the team go undefeated for the week (3-0).

Evans, a freshman from Escondido High School, has an 0.60 earned-run average (ERA) over 35 innings this season. To start her week, she pitched a seven-inning complete game on the road against Saddleback College, leading the team to an 11-1 win.

In the second game, she pitched another complete game in a 10-2 rout of San Diego Mesa in the first game of PCAC play. The game was called after six innings due to the mercy rule.

To finish her week, she pitched three shutout innings in relief against Mt. San Jacinto in a 7-4 road win, leading the team to an overall record of 8-1-1.
