The weekly meeting of the Associated Student Government (ASG) is held at 1 p.m. on Wednesdays. Many student issues are discussed at each meeting including budget and campus concerns. There are four remaining seats available in ASG. Students can still apply to be a part of campus politics.

During the meeting on Feb. 17 a concern was expressed about the many smoke shops in the community that sell paraphernalia supposedly for e-cigarettes yet can also be used for other substances such as marijuana or other illegal substances. Apparently the stores are also selling to minors. This causes concern on campus due to ages and influences of students.

On Friday, March 4, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., there will be an open house for CTE transitions. High school students invited to come and tour the campus and review the many technical programs available to them. Students are allowed to begin a program prior to graduating high school making the transition into Palomar much smoother.

For more information visit their web page at palomar.edu/asg or stop by the ASG offices in rooms SU 102 or SU 104 or the Office of Student Affairs in SU 201.
