In doubles play, co-captains Trhac and Bryant the current top PCAC doubles pair, went up against Imperial Valley’s Charles Stephens, who was able to return after an earlier injury, and Mario Figueroa, a pairing Trhac and Bryant had previously lost to.

“We shouldn’t have lost that match,” Trhac said. “Definitely expecting to come out with a win today.”

The match did not disappoint as Trhac and Bryant claimed a dramatic 8-6 victory, capturing match point on a powerful overhand delivered from Bryant.

Trhac and Bryant will now head into the postseason as the top overall seed for doubles pairs in the PCAC.

“We’re just both goofballs,” Trhac said when asked what make’s Bryant and himself such a good pair. “We just both bring the best out of each other.”

“I play a little bit more conservative and Pete plays more aggressive and so Pete relies on me to get the ball back and I rely on Pete to close out the points.” Bryant said.

“Pete sets me up every time, it’s a one-two punch you know Pete hits him with the first left hook and I hit them with the right hook,” Bryant said. “It’s the one-two punch that get’s us through the tough points and the crucial points,” he added.
