Walking alone across the dark parking lots in the night can be frightening for Palomar students.
But Palomar’s Campus Police offers anyone on campus free escorts to their car by calling (760) 744-1150 ext. 2289
“It’s been available since I started working here, at least 20 years,” Community Service Officer Jesus Montes said.
For those parked on the street, the police can transport students to the end of any parking lot.
There are students who do not know about this program, and those who do know about it tend to be shy or embarrassed to call, but Montes encourages students to call their extension regardless if they ever feel unsafe.
