‘Violent Universe’ makes its way to the Planetarium

“Violent Universe” is the current show at the Palomar College Planetarium.

The movie is a Fulldome Feature that immerses the audience into space as the movie spans across the dome movie screen.

The “Violent Universe” is a stimulating experience, full of vibrant colors that opens the door to a universe of potential catastrophes.

Planetarium Director Mark Lane described the new movie via email as “both an entertaining experience and a sobering reality of how life
on Earth is fragile and at the mercy of the dangers of the cosmos.”

Every Friday night a showing is offered at 8:15 p.m. for $6 for the public and $4 for students and staff with a valid ID
card.

The 30 minute show opened on April 18 and is narrated by Patrick Stewart. Before the movie, a showing of the “Sky Tonight” is offered at 7 p.m. for an additional charge. Parking is free during show times.
