With graduation around the corner students are encouraged to keep track of due dates and events.
Palomar’s Commencement Ceremony will be held on May 22 at the football stadium. Students will need to arrive at the Dome at 2 p.m. no later than 3:30 p.m. to check in.
Each student will receive four guest tickets. Those who need additional tickets can sign up to be placed on a waitlist. Unused tickets will be collected back to give to students on the list. An email will be sent to students in mid to late April with more information on how to RSVP and request additional tickets. The bookstore at the San Marcos campus will be selling cap and gowns. A 10% discount will be given to those who purchase bundle includes the cap, gown, tassel and an accessory. The discount is only available in store.
For those who are a part of different programs on campus, financial aid can be used to pay for regalia online through the bookstore website.
The Transfer Center will host its Transfer Recognition Ceremony at 4:30 p.m. on April 30 in room 438 at the Learning Resource Center (LRC) at the San Marcos Campus. The reception will be hosted in the LRC plaza. Registration is required, and attendance is limited to students and up to two guests.
Free transfer cords will be given out during the ceremony. Those unable to to attend the ceremony can still get the free cord and certificate through a separate form and will be able to pick them up after April 30.
For veteran students, the Veterans Center will give out free cap and gowns as needed. The center will send eligible students an email with information regarding free graduation regalia.
Palomar Promise will be giving out a stole for students who successfully complete the program. Students in the program who were not able to attend Grad Fest will be able to pick up their stoles at the Welcome Center. Stoles can be mailed out if necessary. If a student needs their stole mailed, they can contact the program through its email and phone number.
The Native Student Support Program for Inclusion, Resilience, and Education (NSPIRE) is hosting a Native Graduates Celebration from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on May 6 at the Native American Resource Center located in MD-132. Registration is required for those interested in going.
The Asian Pacific Alliance in Higher Education at Palomar College is hosting its fourth annual Asian American, Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander graduates celebration. The event will take place from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on May 14 in the Student Union building. Registration is required by April 30.
The Pride Center will host its Lavender Recognition Ceremony from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on May 14 in LRC- 438. Registration is open and the deadline to sign up is May 4. Students participating in the ceremony will receive a special cord.
UMOJA will be giving out special stoles to students in the program to wear for its upcoming ceremonies. The Rites of Passage Ceremony will take place from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. on May 12 in the Student Union. Registration is required. The second ceremony, Celebration of Black Graduates, will be from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m on May 15 in the Student Union.
The Association of Latinos and Allies for Student Success will be hosting La Raza Scholars Achievement Celebration from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on May 8 in the Student Union. Students will need to RSVP by April 17.
The Extended Opportunities Programs and Services along with TRIO and Rising Scholars will host an exclusive recognition ceremony for students in those programs. The ceremony will take place from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the California Center of the Arts in Escondido. Students will receive a certificate and a special stole.
