SAN MARCOS — A female bystander fell victim to an exposure incident on the evening of April 3 while on the San Marcos campus of Palomar College.
An email was sent out to all students and faculty of Palomar College on Monday April 3, warning recipients of the incident. The incident took place at the C and D buildings of the San Marcos campus and the suspect is still at large. The suspect was described by the victim as “an unknown black, male, approximately 25 years old and of thin build,” according to the email.
The suspect then ran away and entered a black or white 4-door sedan after the victim ran away from him. Palomar College Police Department (PCPD) has begun conducting an investigation on the matter and is working with other law enforcement agencies. The PCPD is also working the North County Transit District team to lear more on this incident.
PCPD also advises students, faculty, and staff that while on campus they should:
– Avoid isolated or dark areas, including empty classrooms, and use sidewalks.
– Be aware of your surroundings.
– Walk with friends or classmates.
– Keep your car doors locked at all times.
