SAN MARCOS — With the spring semester underway, Palomar College has announced the return of Concert Hour. The college offers free professional performances on campus every week, providing an opportunity for students to attend musical events during their midday class breaks.
Concert Hour will be offered every Thursday starting at 1 p.m. and ending at approximately 2 p.m. The first performance offered will be a jazz showcase by The Soto Six and will be held in the performance lab D-10 in the San Marcos campus. Free parking will be available to attendees in lot 1 and lot 15 during the performance hour.
The Soto Six is a jazz band based out of Oceanside formed in June 2017. The North County based band have established their residency in Carlsbad at Baba Coffee every Friday since 2022, and have played at various other venues all over North County San Diego. Their very first Palomar College performance lineup consists of Dylan Soto on Saxophone, Bob Weller on Piano, Julian Esparza on Bass and Joannah Sy on Drums.
Each week there will be different performances, varying in genres and acts. The performances will also be changing locations throughout the schedule. To get more information on future Concert Hour performances and their locations, visit the Performing Arts website.
