Palomar College offers an extensive course list with options for asynchronous, virtual and in-person learning, allowing students to build a course schedule that fits their availability.
Balancing time for school, work and further obligations can make creating a class schedule feel overwhelming or even impossible. Palomar College has provided a number of options for students to make their classes work for their existing schedule.
Because of the schools wide-ranging class options, I have been able to fit a 13 unit academic load into my schedule, while still being able to keep my two jobs.
If a student wants to take an in-person course, many classes are offered on multiple days with numerous times to choose from. For example, English C1000 in-person sections are available Monday through Friday, with class times ranging from 7:20 a.m. to 7 p.m.
For students who prefer online courses, there are hundreds of virtual and asynchronous options available, according to the Palomar College website. Last semester, I was able to complete a 15-unit semester without ever stepping foot on campus.
Students can create their schedule to be exactly what they want it to be, whether that’s online, in-person or a mix of the two. Education is incredibly important, but so are jobs, careers, families and other responsibilities. Managing every aspect can be challenging, particularly when course schedules are inflexible. Students shouldn’t have to feel overwhelmed trying to squeeze it all in.
Palomar College’s approach makes it much more manageable to plan your class schedule around your life, rather than planning your life around your classes.
