Happy Monday Comets! Only two more weeks left in the semester, but there’s still a lot to look forward to. Here’s what’s happening within the Palomar College community.
Fall 2020 semester to be taught remotely
In recent news, Palomar officials announced that most classes will be taught remotely during the upcoming fall semester, as well as throughout the summer semester. For more information on which classes will be taught remotely, refer to this letter sent by Acting President Jack Kahn to students.
Virtual Performing Arts ensembles and events
Palomar Performing Arts will be hosting a virtual music ensemble event at 1 p.m. on May 14. The Cyber Sonic Sampler event is directed by local music composer Madelyn Byrne. The event is free, but donations will be accepted. For more information on guests who will be performing, visit palomarperforms.com.
Palomar officials announce virtual graduation is scheduled for June
Acting President Jack Kahn sent out a letter to students, notifying students that a virtual graduation will be held for graduating students sometime in June. Officials have also announced that two students will receive a $500 scholarship. Here is the link to apply for the Leadership or Service Award.
Virtual Q&A with Palomar’s Acting President
Kahn will also be hosting a virtual Q&A session for students at 10:30 a.m. on May 18. Students who plan on attending this meeting can send in their questions beforehand to Student Government President Linus Smith at [email protected].
