Palomar College has received a donation of $50,000 from Wells Fargo toward funding veteran services on campus.
Wells Fargo District Manager, Jacob Gillette, presented the check to Interim-President Adrian Gonzalez, along with Foundation and Veteran Services representatives prior to the the annual Veterans day event on Nov. 10 at the San Marcos campus .
Palomar is known for its large veteran population.
It has the largest military population among all California community college campuses, according to a press release.
The funds from Wells Fargo will enable the startup of Palomar’s Veteran-Focused Career Opportunities Program (VFCOP), a structured program with a successful record in helping veterans find careers.
“We’re very grateful for the generous support of Wells Fargo,” said Foundation executive director Richard Talmo. “Their gift will change the lives of hundreds of Palomar College veterans.”
