Working out in the digital age

Between balancing school, jobs, social lives, and sanity, it’s hard for college students to find any time for working out. The last thing on our minds after a long day of hitting the books is hitting the gym. But an easy way to reduce the stress of life is by working out in a positive environment.

Orangetheory Fitness is a gym that is about motivating people to get active with the latest fitness gadgets. Orangetheory Fitness has locations in Poway, Carmel Valley, Encinitas, Mission Valley, and La Jolla.

At Orangetheory Fitness, there is a workout for everyone based on the person’s heart-rate. Members are given a heart-rate tracker to wear on their arm during the workout session so that the trainer is able to cater to the individual person’s intensity while keeping the heart at a healthy pace. This helps to promote metabolism and keep the energy flowing. Each workout contains circuits of treadmill, indoor rowing, and weight/training blocks.

Memberships include: Basic (4 sessions a month), Elite (8 sessions a month), or Premier (Unlimited sessions a month). They also offer a free session for all first time visitors. Classes start at $30. Orangetheory guarantees results, so try it out if you want a new, innovative way of working out.
