Olivia Tosic had just returned home from what she believed to be an ordinary day. She had just seen her son before going into her room. When she came back out, he was gone.

Seven weeks later and there is still no sign of Skylar Peterson Tosic, 20, a business major at Palomar College. He disappeared between 3 and 4 p.m. on Aug. 30 in Escondido.

“I’m a single mom,” his mother said, on the verge of tears because of the entire ordeal and its toll on her.

Tosic said that her son has been hanging out with two men he had recently met at Palomar College. Tosic said her son told her their names were Thaddeus and Eli.

Peterson Tosic had spent the night with Thaddeus and Eli at an unknown location on the Friday and Saturday before vanishing. Peterson Tosic returned home briefly on the Sunday of his disappearance and ate, she said.

He then departed and took an Uber ride to the Safari Park, but exited the cab prematurely just past the San Pasqual Academy, which is his last known location.

Thaddeus and Eli remain enigmatic and have not been able to be reached for questioning.

Tosic stated that her son had been acting out of character prior to going missing. He had been uncommunicative and forgot his wallet and ID. He did not typically sleepover at over people’s houses. Peterson Tosic had lost weight and became “(espoused) in questionable religious ideology,” according to a Facebook page dedicated to the search of Peterson.

Peterson had suddenly become interested in hiking and outdoor activities after meeting Thaddeus and Eli, his mother said. These activities were unusual for him as he had been mostly interested in video games and playing the bass guitar. He had primarily stayed indoors, but was allegedly tanned on Aug. 30 during his short visit home.

Lt. Greg Kogler of the Escondido Police Department said “We are looking at the case…(which is) a missing person case.” Kogler explained that they now believe Peterson Tosic intentionally disappeared. Cases such as these can only warrant reported sightings.

Peterson Tosic has been described as:

· 20 years old

· 5 feet 11 inches

· Approximately 100 pounds

· Extremely skinny

· Caucasian

· Short Brown hair

· Hazel eyes

· Braces
