#4 Watch Palomar students play baseball, softball or tennis

Watch your fellow students leave it all on the field and perhaps see an up and coming future major league baseball player. It’s a great way to spend your break between afternoon classes and an easy way to show support for fellow students who are following their dreams. Refer to the Palomar college Athletics Department website.

#3 Boehm Gallery

Turns out Palomar College has its very own art gallery located right next to the administration services building. Admission is free, though they do accept donations. The gallery features art work from various artists and the exhibits are changed on a semi-monthly basis.

#2 Tutoring at the Library, first floor

Palomar College offers FREE tutoring at the Library on the first floor. Tutoring hours are 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday; 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. from Tuesday through Thursday; and 9 a.m. to noon on Friday and Saturday. There are no reservations required, however; availability is on a first come first served basis. Visit for days and times for the various subjects that tutoring is offered.

#1 Arboretum

An arboretum is a collection of trees and plants that are marked so that you know what types of trees and plants they are. That may not sound very exciting but there is no better place to eat lunch between classes than at the Palomar College Arboretum. The spaces within this hidden gem are a great place to eat lunch or read in peace.

The arboretum is located across Comet Circle from the Nature Science building behind the staff parking. Visit for further information.

Palomar hosts a great amount of services without requiring any upfront costs. While they require effort to find, these free deals are well worth the search.
